We provide a fixed daily rate for our services.

We provide this figure to you in advance of undertaking any assignment.

Each month, you are asked to confirm the days we have operated on your behalf. This gives you the ability to confirm that you are happy with the work that has been conducted and that it has been in line with your expectations.

Only after you have accepted this amount do we produce an invoice for our services.

This gives you complete financial control over the assignment and the quality of work that is undertaken.

The only additional costs that may occur are in relation to expenses. These are typically incurred when travel and accommodation are required to fulfil our obligations to you. These are discussed and agreed at the outset of the assignment should they be required.

In some cases, you will have already decided the what and how of what you want to implement. In these instances, we will evaluate your requirements in order to confirm that we reasonably believe we can achieve your desired outcomes as you have planned.

Once agreed, we will then start immediately with you on the implementation aspect of your requirement.

We will work directly with you and your stakeholders to help you build a strategy around your thinking using our immensely experienced industry and/or functional expert, to help guide you through this process.

We will then leave you with a delivered plan for you to implement.

As with any plan, things can change.

We will work with you to accommodate this change in events. This may include changing our COGENT Executive to ensure you have the very best assistance to guide you through any changes that you are experiencing, and/or reevaluating the timeline to facilitate your changes.

Every project/assignment we work on gets a dedicated in-house Project Director assigned to it.

This individual is responsible for providing you access to our Project Overview tool, dealing with all contractual discussions, helping formulate strategy and giving you the immense peace of mind that the project is being monitored to ensure delivery.

The Project Director and COGENT Executive, work together throughout the length of our time with you to ensure the project runs as smoothly as possible, highlighting any issues that may occur and providing you with alternatives and solutions based on their vast experience if required.

If for any reason you need to stop the assignment, our contractual terms allow for this to happen.

We understand that sometimes things do not go to plan inside of an organisation, or there may be a change of direction. Our flexible programme takes this into consideration.

In some circumstances, the size and scale of a project may mean you need more than just one COGENT Executive.

In these instances, we work closely with you to ensure that not only do we provide you with the experience and knowledge that you need, but that our team of COGENT Executives work well together in order to provide your desired outcome.

We believe that it is imperative that you have the opportunity to select who you wish to work with.

Culture, character and personality are key elements of getting a solution right. This is why we always provide you with 2-3 COGENT Executives, all of whom have the background and experience you require so that the final choice remains yours.


Because of the way that our service operates, we are typically not involved with ‘Inside’ IR35 regulations, however, each project is examined to ensure full HMRC compliance.

We provide you with a Statement of Work and can assist with Status Determinations if required.

Our contractual terms are examined regularly to reflect any changes in legislation.

The short answer is No.

We provide a service that at its heart is delivering a tangible outcome for your business.

If your requirement is one of, gap management without any specific and key deliverables that can be monitored and assessed, we would suggest you look at Interim Management as a potential alternative to your requirement.

Also, if you are looking to try out senior executives within your business with the intention of asking them to remain full time if everything works well, this is not what our COGENT Executives are for. In these situations, we would guide and refer you to the recruitment/interim market.
